Dras is known as to be the coldest place in India and second coldest inhabited place in the world. The average temperature is somewhat around -22 °C which can tumble down to -50 °C in peak winters. In Dras, the summer starts in June and go on up to early September, with an average temperature around 15 °C and little precipitation.
